Long Range Planning and Evaluation

A Committee of the Diocesan Council

This Committee’s work is two-fold:

To evaluate the program groups of the diocese annually and report their finding to the Diocesan Council

To do Long Range Planning for the Diocese

For the last several years we have sponsored an All Commission Day in April. Click here to read the meditation from the April 10, 1999 meeting.

Meetings of this Committee are usually held in Gardiner on the Third Tuesday of the Month except July and August.

Our Present Tasks:

  1. To encourage Diocesan Program Groups to work together to accomplish their mission.
  2. To engage congregations of the diocese in order to
    1. Understand who they are
    2. Understand what their dreams and goals are
    3. Help to define relationships with other congregations who will help them achieve their dreams and goals
  3. Help to design a diocesan system that is relational rather than task oriented, where there is shared leadership and oversight.
  4. To provide a theological structure for understanding the change.
