184th Annual Convention News
October 24-25, 2003
Bangor Civic Center

For the first time in recent memory (i.e. Melinda DeWolfe's 20-something years) a continental breakfast will be offered at the Civic Center on Friday AND Saturday of Convention.

Eat, Drink, and Support the Youth Ministries’ Haiti Mission Project!

An optional Friday dinner will be held following Evening Prayer at St. Patrick’s, Brewer, which is located about 2 miles from the Bangor Civic Center.

If you want good food and good company for less than you would probably pay for at a Bangor restaurant, make your reservation now!  Seating is limited, reservations are required.  Suggested donation of $15 per person.  Make an on-line reservation here.

BYOCM

Bring your own coffee mug!
In an effort to reduce paper waste, the newly enlivened Environment Committee requests that delegates bring their own coffee/tea mug to help cut down on the amount of paper and solid waste we generate at convention.

Essentials to be collected at Convention for St. Elizabeth's Essentials Pantry

As the demand for the St. Elizabeth's pantry grows in Portland, more and more donations are needed.  Currently the pantry serves about 90 families from Maine and 15 countries each Tuesday beginning at 1 p.m.  People begin lining up as early as 9 a.m. Items needed are disposable diapers, tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish detergent, toilet tissue and other similar items that are not covered by the federal food stamp program.

Please bring supplies to convention from your Church and remember to save your hotel shampoos and soaps to drop off as well.
